Our Silver Strider team went to Vietnam in August on a mission to build connections and as Dennis would say “make smiles. Every person on our team added special talents and gifts to help demonstrate our good intentions through good deeds. This trip helped me understand the Vietnamese culture which recognizes the importance of community and connections. We were viewed as a team working together.
Danang International Marathon is known for its impressive route. Starting even before the dawn (4.30am) till when sun was shining all over the streets, the athletes had an chance to experience a completely new perspective of the route.
Especially with the runners participating in 21km or 42km route, passing by the two famous bridges of Danang: Tran Thi Ly and Thuan Phuoc. Coming closer to the finish line, the route was getting sun-kissed with the beauty of dawn on the beach.
Japanese runner Suzaki Yuuya won the men’s full marathon (42km), while Vietnamese Phạm Thị Hồng Lê finished first in the women’s division at the 2018 Manulife Đà Nẵng International Marathon – the sixth edition of the top marathon in Southeast Asia – in Đà Nẵng today.

the city waking up while crossing the different bridges that characterizes the city.

Say Hi with a Smile!
Danang people are kind, warm and friendly. Although they may lack of English skill, they will try to communicate with you through body
language and give you the best support that they can. Don't forget to return with a smile.
One of the most distinctive thing to do in Danang is kick-start your day with a cup of ice coffee, watching the city slowly wake up from the sidewalk.
